A change in military plans has freed up March for me. My orders covered most of March, which meant I wouldn’t be free to run in any of the cool St Patrick’s Day events. But since those orders were rescinded, I am now free.
And the race I am running is the Van Nuys Rockin’ Shamrock. Hosted by A Better World Running, the Rocking Shamrock is part of a series of low key running events that take place in the Los Angeles area. Participants can choose between running a 5k, 10k, 15k or a ½ Marathon.
The course is around a large park with flat ground. In 2015 I ran a Xmas ½ Marathon there. Since then, I’ve also done a 5k and two 10ks on this route. I am hoping for a sub 2:45 time.
